Getting the Care You Need
Workplace injuries must be reported as soon as possible.
Your injury may require medical attention, which can range from basic first aid at your worksite to more extensive care, including hospitalization. Your employer and/or BHHC may guide you to an approved doctor for treatment.
Your claims adjuster will explain your benefits and answer any questions. Our glossary of workers compensation terms will help you better understand terminology during your claim. Easily access BHHC forms online to submit for reimbursement.
Your doctor will determine whether and when you can return to work at full capacity, or if temporary work restrictions are needed during your recovery. Work restrictions are temporary recommendations from your doctor that limit certain activities while you recover from your injury. This helps your recovery and supports your healing process.
If work restrictions are assigned, your doctor will provide documentation for you to share with your employer so they can assess whether suitable work is available within those limits. Your claims adjuster can also assist with this process. In many situations, you’ll be able to return to work in some capacity. If that is not possible, you may be eligible for wage replacement for the time that you are unable to work.
